Our patent protected reciprocating pawl system has been shortlisted for the annual Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA) Innovative Product of the Year Award.
LEEA is the largest trade association in the lifting industry and the LEEA awards highlight companies around the world that have done the most to raise standards in the lifting industry. This award recognises innovative products and services that contribute to improving the Lifting Equipment Industry. Prizes will be presented at the LiftEx 2018 Awards Gala Dinner in Milton Keynes on November 14.
The patent has been recently granted in the UK, adding to an impressive global list of countries to grant this patent.
The design, 100% designed and manufactured by Tiger Lifting, ensures that there is always permanent engagement of one of the reciprocal pawls in the ratchet wheel, so the brake is always fully functional regardless of whether there is spring force or not. Ultimately this means that the hoist can be safely used at angles away from the vertical without the effects of gravitational pull on the pawls posing a risk. Tiger Lifting certify that Tiger products fitted with this pawl design can be safely used for “fleeting” and “cross-hauling” applications up to 45°. This has only been achievable through the extensive research, design, manufacturing and testing of the new pawl system. Hoists fitted with this system have undergone a full and comprehensive testing regime that was drawn up by industry specialists in addition to our own in-house mechanical engineers.
This patented pawl system is utilised in the Tiger TCB, PROLH and SS ranges of lever hoists and chain blocks. Crucially, hoists with this design have proven reliability. They have now been in service globally for several years in a variety of applications and environmental conditions. We have thousands of hours of empirical evidence of their successful performance.
